NVQ in Retail Operations
The aim of this qualification is to contribute to the skill, knowledge and overall performance of the Retail industry's workforce. It provides a first insight into the principles and processes of retail and will aid career progression. The NVQ is designed for people who are involved in either stock storage and order processing, preparing products for sale, merchandising and selling goods, customer service, hygiene and goods movement or a combination of these areas. Within your job role you need to be able to show that you can carry out a range of work activities in a variety of contexts. Some of these activities will be complex or non-routine tasks that may be carried out when you work as part of a team. In addition you need to show that you can take responsibility for your own work and work by yourself when needed. |
Entry Requirements You will be working in the Retail sector. Personal qualities of enthusiasm and commitment are more important than qualifications, although you should have a reasonable level of written English equating to a grade D at GCSE. |
Course Content NVQ Retail Level 2 comprises 8 units, 3 core units and 5 optional units.

How will I be assessed? You will receive one to one assessment with your Assessor. She/he will help you to build a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your competence against the national standards. |
What can I do next? The NVQ in Retail Operations provides an up-to-date qualification in line with industry needs, and presents an opportunity for individuals to progress to becoming Team Leaders or Supervisors. The NVQ Level 2 in Retail will also allow you to progress towards higher level qualifications, such as NVQ Level 3. |
